Collections
On a beautiful sunny new years day in Accra, Ghana, an earthy coloured organic cotton top, tonal batik printed jackets, an original cotton
5-way body and a transparent windbreaker made from a used parachute (and various other pieces) took a trip to a now defunct slave fort to
undertake a step back in time. This get together of made up the photoshoot for the Akabi 2010 collection. And so the journey begun.
Entitled 'Love from Africa', the Akabi 2010 collection is a fusion of the bright colours and the energy of the continent of Africa. This collection
is inspired by the strengths and attitudes of the contemporary female 'urbanite' and so provides a platform through streetwear clothing to present
this. Above all it is an outlet for designer j'Quita to convey environmental issues within the arena of fashion fabric sourcing and use of materials.
These inspirations are fundamentals of Akabi's brand mission and will continue to play an important part of collections to come.
Welcome to the world of AKABI.
